25 weeks pregnant!
Entering the final week of the second trimester!
I can’t BELIEVE this is the last week of the second trimester. I also can’t believe that this week — on Saturday, to be exact — I will be into the double-digits of remaining days. I’ll only have 99 (or so) days left. Insane. I remember when I first got that counter-thingy and it was in the high-200s.
Here’s what happening with Baby Boy this week:
Baby’s size: Just under two pounds, and 14 inches long.
Development: His oil and sweat glands are now functioning (typical boy, haha). His fingernails, toenails, eyebrows and eyelashes are now fully present and will continue to grow until birth (awww).
Appearance: He’s starting to add some body fat (but most of it will come in the final weeks).
Apparently Baby Boy can respond to sound and can hear me and Darling Husband when we talk. We tried testing out various names on him last night, to see if we could get a response, but there wasn’t anything noticeable.
I have been singing more to him lately, so that he can learn to recognize my awful but spirited singing voice. This morning I noticed the sun coming through his cheerful yellow curtains, and burst into a rendition of “Mister Sun … Sun … Mister Golden Sun … Please shine down on meeeee!” Oh yeah, Darling Husband was totally wowed by it.
And now it’s stuck in my head, but I can’t remember all of the words. Ah, why, thank you,
Google …
Oh Mister Sun, Sun,
Mister Golden Sun,
Please shine down on me
Oh Mister Sun, Sun,
Mister Golden Sun,
Hiding behind a tree …
These little children
Are asking you
To please come out
So we can play with you
Oh Mister Sun, Sun,
Mister Golden Sun,
Please shine down on me!
Oh Mister Sun, Sun,
Mister Golden Sun,
Please shine down on me
Oh Mister Sun, Sun,
Mister Golden Sun,
Hiding behind a tree …
These little children
Are asking you
To please come out
So we can play with you
Oh Mister Sun, Sun,
Mister Golden Sun,
Please shine down on …
Please shine down on …
Please shine down on me!

Is it just me or does that song sound kind of pervy now that we're older?
