13 weeks pregnant
Officially in the second trimester!
Yessssssssss!
Today is a huge milestone. I’m officially in the second trimester, and we all know what that means.
It is kind of hard to believe I’m 1/3 of the way there, to having Little Baby in my arms. In some ways it’s seemed to fly by, and in other ways it feels like I’ve been pregnant for a long time. I have known for nine weeks, which is a long time when it’s something you think about every two seconds!
The tentative plan is to announce on Facebook this week, so it’s public knowledge. I’m really looking forward to seeing people’s reactions, and it will be a relief to not have to keep quiet.
The second trimester is often called “the honeymoon period,” because many of the icky first-trimester symptoms (like nausea) have faded, and you’re not enormous and uncomfortable like you are in the third.
The thing I’m looking forward to most in the second trimester is feeling the baby move and kick — which could start as early as the next couple of weeks, depending on how sensitive I am at picking it up.
So happy to have made it safely to this point! Praying the next two trimesters go smoothly, and that Little Baby continues to grow big and strong.
