12 weeks, 4 days pregnant
I did it. I caved. I feel like the biggest loser in the world.
Yes, it’s true … I bought a miniature toothbrush, toothpaste and floss … for the office.
I just shuddered, typing that. You see, I have always taken pretty good care of my teeth — two years of braces and a lifetime of nightly retainer wear will do that to a girl.
I brush after every meal when I’m at home, and never use my teeth to rip open packages (you would be surprised how many Naughty Nellies do that).
But I have always mocked certain family members who insist on bringing toothbrushes in public. Like to restaurants. Yes, I am talking about “Let’s-go-walking-around-New-York-City-for-the-day-and-Oh-yes-we-must-bring-our-toothbrushes!” kind of people.
Those kind of stunts are embarassing to a 13-year-old girl!
Anyway, yesterday I caved. I have been reading too much about
dental hygiene during pregnancy, and how the hormones can screw up your teeth and gums. So I am forcing myself to get better about flossing, and to … *gulp* … brush at the office.
We’re not friends anymore, are we?

I have a toothbrush and toothpaste at work. I hate having gross breath in the afternoon after a tasty lunch. That said, I don't think I'd carry one in my purse or brush in any other public washroom besides in the office.
