Third trimester? Whoa!

26 weeks pregnant

We’re in the home stretch, people! I can’t believe it! I have been pregnant for two whole trimesters, and I’m in the third (and final) one. Omigod.

I have heard from, well, everyone, that this is the most uncomfortable trimester. You’re not feeling nauseous/like a limp rag like you were in the first trimester, but you’re also not energetic and feeling pretty good (like the second trimester).

Here’s what I can expect in the third trimester:

Back pain
Leg cramps
Heartburn
Shortness of breath
Peeing even more often
The loss of bladder control when you sneeze or cough (um … yeah)
Braxton-Hicks contractions

But enough about me! Here’s what happening with Baby Boy this week:

Baby’s size: Just over two pounds, and 15 inches long.

Development: His eyes are opening this week! I wonder if they are brown like mine, or blue like Darling Husband’s?

Appearance: He’s perfectly formed — just has to gain some more weight and length before his big debut.

I’m off to work on the nursery, while I still have some energy left in me. Oh, and probably paint my toenails, since that is getting more difficult by the day. Happy Sunday!
