I came, I saw, I cleaned …
I’m not sure what came over me, because I have never been hit by the de-clutter bug quite as hard as I was last week. I completely
re-did the big bathroom on Thursday night, and dove straight into the
closet makeover on Friday night.
By Saturday morning,
the closet was done. By Saturday evening, I had ripped every single item of clothing out of our armoirs, sorted, tossed, and re-folded. I had taken down the curtains. I had re-arranged
all of the furniture. I had stripped the bed. I took everything off the walls.
And then I was left with … well, a really bland, empty room.
For the two years that we have lived in our current home, our bedroom has been a mix of toffee, chocolate brown and cream. I thought it was the perfect colour combination, but now, of course, I am sick of it.
Now that I’m done to the bare minimum, I can actually look at the room and try to visualize what I want. Over the next few weeks, my goal is to …
- Re-paint the walls and trim
- Sew new curtains
- Sew new pillowcases and throw pillows
- Paint new art for the very-empty focal wall
If I’m being totally honest, I know my sudden home-beautifying obsession is coming from the fact that
we are not going anywhere soon. I think I have put off doing much home decor lately because I was hoping we’d be outta there.
Now, I am determined to make the most out of the space for as long as we’re there. So … any colour suggestions???
