Weekly re-cap of pregnancy #2: Week 15

Week 15
(Nov. 5 to Nov. 11)

Symptoms: Tired, sometimes dizzy, ummm … I’m a bad person for not writing these in a more timely fashion, because that’s all I can remember about Week 15. Oh right! Heartburn.

Body changes: Getting used to it, so it doesn’t really seem like CHANGES anymore. Probably getting bigger every day, but so slowly that I have stopped noticing.

Baby movement: I press my hands on my stomach at night, trying to feel from the outside, but I can’t really. Not yet. And sometimes I feel wooshing blood feelings, but are they from my own hands?

Cravings: Nothing specific. I AM, however *holds up pot lids as shields* drinking a teensy-tiny amount of caffeine-free Diet Coke on an almost nightly basis. I’m talking TINY, like shotglass-sized. It’s my vice. Good night.

Aversions: Nope.

High point: Going to our second OB appointment!

Low point: The point during our OB appointment when they sent in a MEDICAL STUDENT on her SECOND DAY to try to find the heartbeat and SHE COULDN’T. Yeah. Panic? Me? Yeah. Luckilly, she went to get my lovely Dr. L, and she did a quick ultrasound (another one, woohoo) and we got to see the heartbeat instead. The baby looked a lot more baby-like (we’re very technical around these parts of the blogosphere, aren’t we?).

How does this week compare to Week 15 during pregnancy #1? I apparently had my linea nigra then, and I don’t have that yet. Although it took a billion years to go away after having Baby #1, so it does not seem to have any regards for proper coming-and-going times.

Weekly re-cap of pregnancy #2: Week 14

Week 14
(Oct. 29 to Nov. 4)

Symptoms: Tiredness. Unpacking-related fatigue, really. And dizziness.

Body changes: Let’s just not talk about that. OK? I am at that depressing point where I want to lie to people about how far along I am, because OMG really, who looks like this at 14 weeks?

Baby movement: I think I am eating less sugar this time around. That, or I am too busy to really notice much movement. Or, you know, this baby is NOT like his/her older brother, and is a mellow type of baby-human.

Cravings: Home-cooked food. So sick of …

Aversions: … pizza! It’s the moving-in food from hell demons.

High point: Celebrating Halloween in our new house. Or, as I like to call it, “Operation Meet The Neighhours and Make Friends OMG Hiiiiiiii!”

Low point: Thinking I was pretty damn smart to take advantage of my two toddler-free hours and do ALL of our Christmas shopping. And buying so much that I was forced to drag myself — and a zillion million heavy bags — to a bench and call Darling Husband repeatedly and bitch to him that I needed him to pick me up nowwwwwww.

How does this week compare to Week 14 during pregnancy #1? I don’t seem as crazy-emotional this time, but maybe I’m just too tired? Yes, that sounds zzzzzzzzzz …

Woah, I actually … crafted?

Had a great afternoon crafting with L, A and K. It was the first time I’ve sat down and actually made something — other than some art for the toddler’s new room, which I’ll show you soon — in, like, forever. And it was nice X 100,000.

I was so inspired that I stopped at Michaels on the way home, picked up $18 of supplies, and put together a holiday wreath for our front door once the toddler was tucked into bed.
I need to find a way to work more creative projects — other than writing, which is how I make a living — into my life. It makes me a happier person, which can only make me a better wife and mom.

P.S. Confession: I am so tired that I got confused and thought today was Wordless Wednesday, so I only planned on posting the wreath pic. Oops. Zzzzz.

Birthdaying

No post today, bloggy-friends, as I’m busy showering my sweet man with birthday love. And cinnamon toast. And uninterupted TV time while I serve beer and snacks in a short skirt, or something.

There’s never been a guy who deserved it more.

XOXO

Weekly re-cap of pregnancy #2: Week 13

Week 13
(Oct. 22 to Oct. 28)

Symptoms: Crippling exhaustion. But that is probably because I am a ONE-WOMAN MOVING MACHINE OMG. Boxes. Unpacking. Ow. And headaches.

Body changes: I think I’m officially done playing “Pregnant or just fat?” The answer is (luckily) always “pregnant.” And that is definitely the preferred answer.

Baby movement: Still only really noticing it at night, when I’m very still.

Cravings: Pizza Hut pizza. It was incredible.

Aversions: None!

High point: Reaching the second trimester. And moving into our new house!

Low point: Moving into our new house! (Yes, it was a high and a low. Have you ever tried to move all your crap WITHOUT MOVERS — and with a very disorganized husband calling the shots?)

How does this week compare to Week 13 during pregnancy #1? The headaches are back, unfortunately. And the sucky part about pregnancy is the don’t-take-any-drugs part, so you are stuck with nothing but the occassional regular-strength Tylenol. How come in What to Expect, they reassure you that if you did crack-cocaine before you were pregnant, it’s no big deal, but I CAN’T TAKE A FREAKING ADVIL?
