Cuddle Quilt: Steps 5, 6 & 7
Big news! Last night I had a crafting marathon with L, and I finished the Cuddle Quilt!
STEP 5: I sewed the cotton batting to the backing of the quilt, so I’d have fewer layers to deal with …

STEP 6: I sewed all of the layers (including the ruffle) together (and was too excited to stop for a pic!).
STEP 7: I machine-quilted the whole thing. Taaaaaadaaaaaaa! …

… and the back!

Ahhhh … So satisfying to finish a project!
Just waiting for Baby …

It looks so amazing!! What a great project. I’m so impressed that you were able to machine quilt it all! Makes the idea of making a quilt much more reasonable for semi-crafty girls like me 🙂

Thanks! I have machine-quilted once before, and it didn’t turn out very well — got very bunched up. The trick (I think) is sewing across the middle first, to keep everything aligned.

Looks totally cute. Good job. I can never machine quilt without some bumps. I just have decided that is how life is. The baby doesn’t know anyway.

Thanks, Heather! You’re totally right — the baby won’t notice the mistakes! They probably even give it “character,” right?
