5 ways I’ve mellowed since having a baby …

  1. We used to get groceries twice a week. We’d run out of one thing, and I’d be all “We have no food, Darling Husband. We need to go to the store!” Now? The fridge can be bare of nothing but condiments, one apple, and a smidgen of milk, and I’m like, “Nah, we’re fine. We can wait another day.”
  2. I used to make the bed every morning and carefully arrange the five throw pillows just so. Now? Who cares if I’m climbing into an unmade bed? All that matters is bed = sleep!
  3. I used to paint my nails at least once a week. Now I’m happy to have time to cut them short and file them smooth.
  4. I used to make my famous scrambled eggs a couple of times a week, and serve it with perfectly buttered toast. Now? Pepperoni for breakfast. And I recently went for almost an entire day eating nothing but muffins.
  5. I used to consider “me time” to be several hours of relaxing with a book, a glass of Diet Coke, and a bowl of chips. Now I do that for approximately five minutes before deciding sleep is more important and joining my baby in dreamland.

So what do you think?
