34 weeks pregnant — now in Week 35!
This is really happening, isn’t it? As my beloved aunt says every (single) time she sees me, “Wow … you’re really having a baby, aren’t you?”
Week 35 is going to be exciting …
- Monday: My replacement starts at work, and the training begins. It’s the beginning of the end of my time there before maternity leave, which is weird and thrilling and horrifying at the same time.
- Tuesday: OBGYN appointment. Dr. L will surely want to discuss Friday’s dramatic hospital visit with Handsome Doctor (swoon), and she may suggest I go on maternity leave earlier than I’d planned (May 14).
- Saturday: Our second (and final) baby class. This one focuses on parenting, so it will be lighter than the first, I think. Learning the different colours of baby poop and stuff like that. I hope we get to play with dolls!!!
And here’s what happening with Baby Boy this week:
Baby’s size: He weighs about 5 1/2 pounds (lil’ bruiser!) and measures about 18.2 inches long!
Development: Most of his basic physical development is now complete — he’ll spend the next few weeks putting on weight. Although I’m not sure how, since I would swear he is the size of a six-month-old.
Appearance: I suspect he has muscles, because OW OW OW OW OW OW! Be nice to Mommy!
