23 weeks, 3 days pregnant
Had my monthly OBGYN appointment this morning, and there were five important developments:
- The 20-week ultrasound results? “Perfect” (yup, even the do-over)
- Fundal height? 23.5 (perfect for being 23.5 weeks preggo)
- Blood pressure? 120/68
- Baby boy’s heartbeat? Loud and clear
- I HAD A NEW NURSE AND SHE SAID MY STOMACH MUSCLES WERE “TAUT!”
Oh, yeah, you read that right. “Taut.” First I was
“small,” and now I’m also “taut.” God bless these wonderful, wonderful nurses and their lovely flattery.
NEW NURSE (while measuring my fundal height): Do you exercise?
ME (nervous): Umm … no.
NEW NURSE: Really?
ME: Well, I walk … you know, to the bus and stuff.
NEW NURSE: Oh, well your stomach muscles are very taut.
ME (beaming): Really?
